Many of us are already prepared, design and build homes to withstand the elements and forces of Mother Nature. Before we can discuss the development of better homes designed to withstand the catastrophic forces of hurricanes, it is essential to first understand the magnitude and complexity of these storms. The destructive force of hurricanes is unlike any other natural disaster, and until we grasp the full scope of their impact, it is impossible to make informed decisions about how to build homes that can better protect lives and property.
