Solar 2 Los Chivos, Vieques
$2,700,000
3 Beds ⋅ 3 Baths ⋅ Bo. Puerto Real SubDv.
Situated at one of the highest points in Los Chivos, Viento Norte is a architectural masterpiece, conceived as a labor of love by international architect and exhibition curator Carlos Fierro. Completed just shy of five years ago and currently operating as a luxury Airbnb, this singular private residence combines concrete, glass, wood, and light in a cohesive, modern composition. Perched above Vieques, the house commands extraordinary 180-degree views across the Caribbean. The architecture is deliberately restrained, with a distinctly brutalist character softened by the warmth of its surroundings and the ever-changing Caribbean light. Arrival is through a grand solid cement pivot door, opening into a main level centered around an expansive open-concept living area. Custom designed elements are seamlessly integrated throughout, from built in cement and wood storage to a concealed television compartment and drop-down projection screen. Floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors surround the living space, placing the landscape at the heart of the home. The adjacent kitchen features a generous poured concrete island that seats eight and serves as both a gathering space and bar, with everything needed for everyday living and entertaining. The living space extends beyond the glass, with a covered balcony that descends to the pool terrace via monumental concrete stairs. At its center is a striking 390 sqft solar powered infinity pool, oriented toward the southern horizon. The extensive terrace is designed for quiet mornings and lively gatherings, with a poolside grill, sunbathing areas, shaded dining and lounge spaces, and a luxurious outdoor rain shower. A neighboring lawn provides room to play, while integrated lighting transforms the terrace into an ideal setting for evening entertaining. Back inside, floating concrete stairs lead to the private quarters. Three bedrooms open onto a shared terrace overlooking the pool and Caribbean, each equipped with a state of the art fan and AC system. The king sized primary suite enjoys commanding southern and western exposures, offering a front row seat to Vieques sunsets. Its adjoining bath features a generous glass enclosed rain shower, double vanity, and built in closet. A private terrace nook provides a peaceful setting for morning coffee, reading, or lounging in a hammock. The second bedroom is currently configured for children or single guests with twin/full trundle bunk beds, while the third bedroom can be arranged with two twins or a king, making it equally suited to children or guests. The guest bath continues the home's architectural language with a glass enclosed rain shower framing the Caribbean views. Crowning the residence is a spectacular 1,200 sqft rooftop mirador. Finished with built-in seating and integrated lighting, it functions as a private observatory by day and an intimate entertaining space by night, great for sunrise yoga, sunset cocktails, stargazing, and evenings beneath the Vieques sky. The house is supported by an 8,000 gal cistern, garage, motorized private entrance and ample on site parking. Conceived as a complete architectural composition rather than a collection of rooms, Viento Norte is a distinctive contemporary private residence in one of Vieques’s most extraordinary settings, waiting to be experienced.
